Hello fellow hoggers!.......Ron Lilley returned with more clients, Lance Kizziar and Bob Kizziar. No shortage of success here as there were 5 hogs taken between them!!! Ron did not miss with an arrow this week...and retrieved his hog shortly afterwards. Lance found out how amazingly tough these hogs are and also how the right spot will bring them down quick,...even with a 200 yard shot! One hog of Lance's was an agreed 150#'r. Bob took a 100# hog and seemed pleased with his time in the field. He saw his commrads have success and saw lots of hogs. The two big russian boars were seen on the run in the morning not to be seen the rest of the day.........they still lurk!..............Ever seen a cottontail squat to "hide" while you walk close by? Boars will do the same thing but will "bust the bushes"once they think they have been detected! Kind of scary to know you might walk within inches of "_ell's fury"!
.....Just a note on hog sizing: Hog weights are notoriously overestimated when they roam hillsides and valleys as they tend to grow "up" instead of "out",...but feed 'em some corn and in a short time they get thick and slabby with just enough fat to grill them to perfection! Feral hog is universally accepted as fine "wild"cuisine by most hunters!!!!!!!

Well,....sometimes I don't gather the facts when I get wrapped up in the excitement of others' hunt. Seems I need to set the record straight concerning this last weekends hunt! Cory Vire got the big hog of the weekend with a black hog around #180. Karen Lilley got the hog she wanted by puttin' the stalk on a spot. Ron Lilley put the bow down after a miss and took home one for the pit with a well placed bullet securing this hog as table faire.......Congratulations Folks!!!!!!!!!

Ron and Karen Lilley and Cory came out for a Sunday April 23rd hunt and Karen shot a large black sow and an unusual spotted hog after a drive by Ron. Ron got a shot with an arrow but was unable to connect....well,...he missed. Better luck next time, Ron! Two new hogs arrived yesterday and two nice, heavily "euro" boars are in the field this afternoon! Good Luck to this weekends hunters who will have some fine targets. Booking is open!

Today is Thursday April 13th.......while I was running the fencelines I kicked up 18 hogs of all sizes and was happy to see they all seemed fat and were kickin' up dust and gettin' somewhere! Travis.....a new "Thrifty Nickel" viewer, called interested in a hunt..........his timing is perfect! Not that there is ever much question of success at Wilson Hilltop Ranch! Everyone gets a hog here ...by stalkin or stand hunting. Be sure and ask about group discounts...........Travis did and he'll be the winner!

Well,......Saturday April 8th,...Autry brought Dave Greenwald back instead of little brother as originally intended. Each shot two hogs!,...talk about bringin' home the bacon! Autry got challenged by a sow and took a backwards dive after shots that just seemed to simply aggravate this hog.Dave also left lead in this one in an effort to stop this resilient beast......in the end the hunters score x 4! Even with these down they believe they counted 17 in one group and 6 in another! Congratulations Autry and Dave!
